It seems the It giant is taking this decision to deal with the high attrition that company is facing. According to the sources, in last quarter of 2015, TCS’s attrition rate crossed 15% which is considered a big figure but still many employees enjoy working here and the head count is over 3 lac across globe.
“The company has reviewed the Notice Period policy and based on employee feedback and prevailing practices decided to revert to the earlier notice period of 90 days served with effect from March 1, 2016. This will be applicable to India-based employees,” Ajoyendra Mukherjee, executive vice president and global head – HR at the company, said in a post on the company’s internal site.
Mr. Mukherjee also added that the notice period was three months until October 2007 and was revised to 1 month after that but again it has been increased to 3 months. on 19th Feb, the head of HR, Mr. Mukherjee shared this news with the employee and an employees shared that on facebook and here is the screenshot of it.
Currently almost all the companies are facing the attrition rate issue and most of the companies are having either a notice period of 2-3 months or they are in the process to make it 2-3 months so that the attrition period can be lowered and proper transition can be ensured.
